GGT Submission-Only Invitational 2: The Lightweights

Match time is only counted for submission wins.

1st Place: Damian Gaston- 4/5 submissions, 15:42 min total match time

2nd Place: Noel Zamora - 2/5 submissions, 5:06 min total match time

3rd Place: Leo Santos - 2/5 submissions, 5:12 total match time

Ground Game Theory is thrilled to announce its second official NoGi Jiu Jitsu competition, featuring a 6-man, submission-only, 165 lb intermediate (blue & purple) lightweight round robin bracket and several exciting superfights. This event marks the launch of the GGT Submission-Only Invitational tournament series, which aims to run several times per year in Miami featuring championship brackets across six weight classes and superfights.

In the brackets, matches will run for six minutes and everybody fights everybody. The person with the most submissions at the end wins. In the case of a tie, the person with the least total match time for their matches won by submission wins.

This competition will give local grapplers an opportunity to gain competition experience, exposure via professional media coverage, status as the reigning champion of a given weight class, and inspire more local competitive activity.

Submission-only with all subs legal. If there's no submission, it's a draw.

NO SLAMMING ALLOWED!

Same day weigh-in.

Must weigh in at 165 lbs or below.

Must be a blue or purple belt.

1 coach per competitor.

Running into the wall calls for an immediate halt in action and a reset at the center of the mat.

Championship belt and status as reigning champion of your weight class.

Free tournament entry when defending the belt.
